Kathleen Ayers, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist in California. She has worked in the mental health field since 1991, with individuals of all ages and groups of adults. She received her doctorate at the Professional School of Psychology in Sacramento, California. Prior to that, she received an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dayton, in Ohio and an M.S. in Medical Psychology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, in Bethesda, Maryland. Her B.S. degree in Psychology/Biology is from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Kathleen Ayers, Psy.D. Chief Operating Officer

Her orientation is cognitive-behavioural. She works with people who have chronic conditions, such as pain and physical conditions. She has personal experience in helping people cope with celiac disease and food allergies. She works in a physician’s office in Marin County and has a private practice. Kathleen teaches at PSP and The Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto. She also taught at the McMaster University DeGroote School of Medicine in Hamilton, Ontario, worked as a Certified Canadian Counsellor and taught at the UC Davis School of Medicine. She recently started work on a Certificate in Telepsychology. In her private practice, she works online and makes home visits. In addition to writing Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses at UC Davis, she recently wrote a chapter called “The Neuroscience of Coaching,” with Miles Bowman, Joan C. King, and Linda J. Page. The chapter has just been published in The Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of the Psychology of Coaching and Mentoring, eds. Jonathan Passmore, David Peterson, and Teresa Freine.
