Maatisak Amenhetep, M.S.W.,L.C.S.W.

Maatisak earned her Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Sacramento, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Because of her academic excellence, Maatisak was selected for the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for overseas studies. She has been licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences since 1999, and she has maintained a private practice in midtown Sacramento since 2003. Maatisak Amenhetep brings over 23 years of clinical experience with her to PSP. Her clients range from ages 3 to 93, and are diverse in ethnicity, culture, language, and sexual preference. Maatisak has worked in schools, universities, prisons, residential facilities, psychiatric hospitals, clinics, geriatric facilities, corporations, non-profit and private sectors, county governments, communities, and churches. She has also provided clinical supervision for interns preparing for BBS exams.

Maatisak specializes in the treatment of trauma, and has had extensive training and experience, particularly in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is the treatment of choice for combat veterans with PTSD. Maatisak has successfully used this technique with private practice clients, geriatric patients, and traumatized prison inmates. Other specialties include Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, and Peak Performance. She is also a credentialed Spiritual Life Coach, a Meditation Teacher, both an NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and an NDR (Neurological Deprogram to Reprogram) Practitioner, and a certified Ericksonian Hypnotist.

Additionally, Maatisak is CISD (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) certified, and has several certifications through the American Red Cross as a disaster relief mental health provider and supervisor. In this capacity, she has been a first responder to suicides, homicides, and natural disasters. She received special awards and was recognized by FEMA and the American Red Cross for valuable service to Hurricane Katrina/Rita evacuees.
